As the holiday season approaches, many businesses rush to complete year-end projects before the break. Whether it’s a construction deadline, equipment relocation, or a large-scale installation, safety must remain the top priority — even under tight schedules.
1. Prioritise Rigging Integrity
Rigging plays a crucial role in every lifting operation. Poorly maintained or incorrectly set-up rigging can cause serious accidents and costly damage.
At ABC Crane Hire, all our lifting operations are handled by fully licensed, highly trained personnel, ensuring every component is inspected and compliant before the lift begins.
2. Assess Ground Conditions
Even with the best equipment, unstable ground can make a lift unsafe. Perth’s summer heat and sudden rainstorms can affect soil conditions, especially on open sites.
3. Monitor Weather Conditions
The WA summer can bring heatwaves, strong winds, and sudden storms — all of which affect crane operations. Wind speed, lightning, or extreme temperatures can make it unsafe to proceed.
4. Manage Fatigue and Scheduling
Holiday deadlines often mean longer hours and tighter turnaround times, which can lead to worker fatigue — a common cause of on-site accidents.
5. The Role of Your Crane Hire Company
A trusted crane hire partner can make a huge difference in safety and efficiency.
ABC Crane Hire provides:
- Experienced riggers and dogmen who follow strict safety protocols.
- Lift studies and site consultations to ensure precision and compliance.
- Well-maintained cranes that undergo regular inspection and servicing.
When you hire with ABC, you’re not just hiring a crane — you’re hiring a safety-focused team committed to protecting your people and property.
6. Special Considerations During the Holiday Season
- Reduced staff availability and coordination delays.
- Limited access to suppliers or local authorities for permits.
- Scheduled maintenance or fleet downtime across the industry.
